In the far eastern north of the Maghreb, Oujda is located.
It is a border town that is only about 7 kilometers away from the Zuj Baghal point, and it is strategically located only sixty kilometers from the Mediterranean coast and about 150 kilometers from Melilla. Crossroads between North Africa and Southern Europe.
Its climate is a Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers, cold rainy winters, but its precipitation rarely exceeds 150 mm.
Despite its harsh natural condition, geographical and historical travel describe it as having diverse products, extensive orchards, and abundant livestock, due to its abundant water bed.
The city's economy depends on the commercial sector represented by the transit of convoys from its lands to the rest of the cities of Morocco and Algeria, and on the industrial and tourism sectors to some extent due to its religious monuments and historical monuments.
For long periods, Oujda remained a place of stability and land for many Berber tribes.
With the beginning of the Islamic conquests, Arab tribes began arriving and settling in neighborhoods that were soon named after the families that inhabited them, in addition to a Jewish sect that coexisted with the local population.
