Summary

This doctoral thesis examines the role of visual media in preserving, promoting and developing Moroccan cultural heritage through a critical analysis of heritage-related programmes broadcast by Al Aoula and Tamazight TV between 2016 and 2019. The research studies how Moroccan public television addresses tangible and intangible heritage and explores its potential contribution to cultural preservation and sustainable development. Amouddou is included among the television programmes analysed, alongside other heritage productions. The study also draws on audience surveys and interviews with 45 media professionals, researchers, experts and cultural actors. Among its recommendations are stronger support for heritage programming, specialised training for media professionals, greater use of modern audiovisual formats and technologies, and the creation of a television channel dedicated to Moroccan heritage.
