Summary

This doctoral thesis, developed over several years of research, examines the construction of meaning and information in documentary film and their influence on viewers, using Amouddou as its principal case study. It focuses on the relationship between audiovisual language, documentary discourse and audience reception, analysing how images, sound, narration and other elements contribute to conveying information, shaping meaning and affecting the viewer’s understanding and response.
