Modo Episode 57
THE STORY OF 'HABBAZI'
Broadcast date: Friday 12 October 2007
In this episode, the Amodo program deals with the story of a resident of the village of Alma in the soil area of Chishawa province.
He is Mr. Muhammad Al-Habbaz, the man who stamped history with his name to identify a type of animal whose fossils were discovered in this village, called Almasaurus Habbazi.
It is no coincidence that part of the name of this animal corresponds to the place of its discovery, the village of Alma
And another part with the title of Al-Sayyid Al-Habaz, who lives in the same village. Rather, it is an acknowledgment of the efforts made by this person in discovering this ancient reptile.
Morocco is rich in its fossils and sediments that date back millions of years. Thus, it is the treasury of the past, and an archive through which paleontologists can reconstruct the sequence of events that preceded the emergence of the human race, and show images of the ancient world, through those fossils provided by its geological layers.
Are we aware that the fossils stored in our country are a wealth that must be protected and preserved?
