During our stay on the island of Gran Canaria, we realized beyond any doubt that the Guanches, who are the people of this Berber country, were able, despite the harsh environment in which they lived and despite the isolation, to establish for themselves and for themselves a great civilization that they preserved. The identity of this people is threatened with demise.. Those who resisted the invasion fell many victims, and those who surrendered were baptized and their names became Spanish.. The episode stands on the awareness of the Canarians of the importance of preserving their identity, by dusting off their heritage and their original language and bringing life back to it.
The episode includes interrogations:
Khosai Mahmoud: A collective actor
Roman Souza: Professor and community activist
Luis Falcon Ribeiro: President of the Azar Association
Lydia and Shona: From the Azar Association
