Episode 75
Tafilalet between yesterday and today
first travel
Broadcast date Feb 01, 2008
The historical monuments and archaeological sites in which the Errachidia region abounds, constitute an important factor indicative of the ancient civilization witnessed by the Greater Tafilalet region.
Despite its semi-desert climate and its remoteness from Moroccan urban centers, the region has attracted, throughout its long history, huge and mixed numbers of human races, as humans have settled in it since the Stone Ages.
For a long time, Tafilalet was an arena for the pioneering roles in building a united Morocco, and the imprints of those roles remained stuck to its rocks, as it stuck to the minds of its people, and was passed on by generations.
How is it not, when it is the cradle of the Alawite state, whose sons are still on the throne of the country, surround it with their care and redeem it with their lives, following the example of their great grandfather: Moulay Ali Sharif, buried by Rissani and the source of her pride and joy.
