Nature and man
Broadcast date: Friday 05 October 2007
The cycle of nature and man takes us to the Atlas region
Small to discover that it is the oldest mountain range in Morocco
It dates back to the first geological time, and that it witnessed in the past several volcanic eruptions, whose ash resulted in the formation of hills with fragile rocks called “witness hills.”
These volcanic mounds, exploited by man since ancient times to dig caves, have become inherited from generation to generation for permanent or seasonal habitation.
Ighdess roundabout, one of the districts in the area, is a model of this inner residence, whose residents have moved from a nomadic life to a settled life.
The person of the region does not care about the origin or source of these topographic formations, but is satisfied with exploiting them
And harnessing it to his advantage. However, he should know that it is considered a book that includes the story of that same person, and the history of the succession of geological events that accompanied the development of life in the Little Atlas.
It is a heritage that must be understood, respected and preserved.
