The crocodile and bears of Taza

Our search led us to the Taza region, in an attempt to unravel one of the mysteries of Morocco's ancient natural history.
What we are about to explore this time, during this journey, is unprecedented—not only in the history of scientific discoveries in the Taza region or Morocco as a whole, but across the entirety of North Africa.
It concerns a fossil of a marine reptile that vanished millions of years ago, hidden within a deep and extraordinary cave known as Chaara. This cave remained unexplored until after Morocco's independence.
We also uncovered other archaeological finds, including skeletal remains, within a submerged natural well. These belonged to one of Morocco's extinct bears.
